Scotland is a book-lover’s paradise. Not only has the landscape inspired uncountable prose and poetry; many of the world’s most-loved books and authors found their origins here.

It’s unsurprising, then, that the independent bookshop scene in Scotland is absolutely thriving. From the busiest high streets to the loveliest of small towns, villages and islands, bookshops of all sizes can be found ready to match readers with their next favourite read.
